The youth began building boxes to house “community pantries” in, and they are near completion! Once they are installed, we will post a list of locations around the county where they are located.
Outdoor community pantries are much like the local library boxes situated around the county. The idea is that these boxes will be stocked with things such as shelf-stable foods, hygiene products, and other goods. People who are in need can take as needed, and people with extra can leave for those in need. It will be a give-and-take for the community!
Currently, two boxes have been installed! One is located in Lusk, near the community center. The other is located on Lewis Chapel near the new Dollar General.
